Business growth consulting

Business Growth Consultant for Owners Who Cannot Tell What to Fix First

You have built a business that works. You have customers, revenue, maybe a small team. You are not starting from zero.

But growth has become harder. The things that used to move the needle no longer feel predictable. You have a list of ideas, but the list keeps getting longer, and you are not sure which one matters most.

You may not need another tactic. You may need someone to help you figure out what is actually limiting growth and what to do about it first.

Tell me what you need

When you're working harder but the business isn't growing with you

Growth stalls quietly. The owner is doing more, the business is busier, but the results are not keeping pace.

Sometimes the issue isn't how hard you're working. It's knowing what needs to change, in what order, and why.

That is what a business growth consultant is for.

What a business growth consultant actually does

A business growth consultant examines the business from the outside, finds what is limiting growth, and helps the owner decide what to prioritize before spending more time or money on execution.

It is not about replacing your judgment. It is about giving you a clearer picture of your own business so your judgment can be better informed.

Diagnosis, not tactics.

Before recommending more marketing, hiring, systems or products, the first job is to understand what is actually getting in the way. Tactics applied to the wrong problem waste money and delay progress.

An outside perspective.

Business owners can become so close to their businesses that it becomes difficult to experience them the way a potential customer does. An experienced outside view can spot patterns, blind spots and structural issues that are invisible from the inside.

What it is not.

This is not agency work. I do not run your ads, manage your social media or implement your SEO. It is not generic business coaching. It is a structured diagnostic engagement for owners who need to understand what is limiting growth before they commit to a larger plan.

The review

The five areas I review

I look at your business across five areas to find where growth is getting stuck and what to address first.

Strategy

I look at whether the business knows where it is going, what it is trying to accomplish, who it serves, what it wants to be known for, and whether its current priorities actually support those goals. Often the problem is not a lack of ideas. It is too many ideas competing for the same time, money and attention.

Visibility

I look at whether the right people can find the business, understand it, trust it and ultimately choose it. Visibility is not just being seen. It is being known, liked, trusted and chosen. If your biggest question is why people are not seeing, understanding or choosing your business, read more about the visibility lens here.

Customer Experience

I look at the business from the customer's perspective, from first discovery through inquiry, purchase, delivery, follow-up and the opportunity to return or refer someone. I want to identify unnecessary friction, confusion, inconsistency and missed opportunities to strengthen the relationship.

Operations

I look at how the work actually gets done: processes, systems, responsibilities, communication, technology and where the owner or team is spending unnecessary time. The goal is not to add complicated systems. It is to identify where better organization or a simpler process could make the business easier to run and easier to grow. That includes deciding where AI could practically help a small business, and where it does not belong.

Growth

I look at where additional revenue or opportunity could realistically come from based on the business that already exists: customers, offers, pricing, partnerships, referrals, visibility, retention and other opportunities. Growth should be connected to the company's actual capabilities and goals rather than chasing every possible idea.

If that sounds like the outside view your business needs, the Business Visibility & Growth Assessment™ is where we would start.

Diagnostic observations

Signs your growth problem is structural

These are some of the things I see when a business is working but growth is becoming harder:

Observation 1

The owner has too many priorities and no clear order.

There may be ten legitimate things that could improve the business, but no clear understanding of which one will make the biggest difference now.

Observation 2

The business has outgrown the way it used to operate.

Processes that worked when the company was smaller are now creating bottlenecks, inconsistency or too much dependence on the owner.

Observation 3

Revenue is coming in, but the owner cannot clearly identify what is driving it.

They know the business is producing customers and revenue, but they cannot confidently connect results to specific marketing, sales, referrals, partnerships or other activities.

Observation 4

The owner is still carrying too much of the business personally.

Too many decisions, customer issues, processes or responsibilities still have to go through the owner, which limits the company's ability to grow beyond the owner's available time.

Observation 5

There are opportunities everywhere, but no clear filter for deciding which ones to pursue.

New products, partnerships, marketing ideas, technology, customer requests and growth opportunities compete for attention. Activity increases, but focus decreases.

Observation 6

The customer experience has not evolved as the business has grown.

What happens between discovering the business, becoming a customer, receiving the product or service, and returning or referring someone may not be intentional or consistent.

Observation 7

The business is doing a lot of marketing and sales activity without a connected strategy.

Individual activities may be good, but they are not necessarily working together toward the same business objective.

Observation 8

The owner knows something needs to change but is too close to the business to know what should change first.

These are observations, not a list of mistakes. Every established business experiences some of these at different stages. The question is which one is currently limiting growth, and whether an outside perspective can help you see it.

Founder and operator experience

Why I can answer this

I built and scaled a consumer-based product business and have spent my career working in sales, business development, marketing, visibility and relationship building. I have earned more than 80 media features without a PR firm, built partnerships, worked with retailers, developed systems and processes, and built the online infrastructure behind this business.

What I bring to consulting is the perspective of someone who has actually had to figure these things out while running a business, not just looking at one from the outside.

Today, I use that experience to help business owners step outside their businesses long enough to see what is working, what is getting in the way and where the opportunities may be.

The primary next step

How we would work together

The starting point is the Business Visibility & Growth Assessment™.

The Assessment is a structured outside-in examination of your business. It includes:

  • Client intake
  • Review of your completed intake and relevant business materials
  • External research and review of your business from the customer's perspective
  • Review of relevant touchpoints such as your website, social presence, Google Business Profile, messaging, offers and other customer-facing materials
  • Strategy Discovery Session
  • Strategic review across five core areas: Strategy, Visibility, Customer Experience, Operations and Growth
  • Identification of strengths, opportunities and blind spots
  • Business Growth Snapshot
  • Executive summary
  • Customized 90-Day Growth Action Plan
  • Growth Roadmap Presentation

Implementation is separate from the Assessment.

A smaller starting point

If you would rather start smaller

Not everyone is ready for a full Assessment. If you have one specific question that needs an answer, a single hour can be enough to get unstuck.

One-Hour Consulting Call: $247

A single 60-minute consulting call. Come with one specific business question or issue you want to work through, and we'll use the hour to determine your clearest next step.

If the Assessment identifies more work

If the Assessment identifies work you would like help implementing, we can discuss project-based consulting or a longer engagement based on what your business actually needs.

For project-based consulting, email me about your project.

For a larger transformation engagement, book a Transformation Program Discovery Call.

The underlying idea is simple: diagnose first, recommend second.

Questions

Common questions

What is the difference between a business growth consultant and a business coach?

A business coach often focuses on mindset, accountability and regular ongoing conversations. A business growth consultant is brought in to diagnose a specific business problem, review the business structurally and recommend what to prioritize. My work is closer to the second: I am looking at your business from the outside, identifying what is limiting growth, and giving you a clear plan for what to do next.

Do you implement the recommendations?

No. The Assessment is a diagnostic engagement. You receive a clear picture of your strengths, opportunities and blind spots, plus a 90-day action plan. Some clients implement on their own. Some work with me on project-based consulting or a longer engagement afterward. Implementation is separate.

How long does it take to see results?

That depends on what is limiting growth and how quickly you implement. The Assessment gives you a 90-day action plan, but the timeline for results depends on the specific problems and the resources you have to address them.

Does my business need to be a certain size?

The Assessment is designed for established small businesses that are already generating revenue and have customers. If you are still in the idea stage, this is probably not the right fit yet.

What if I already have an agency or marketing team?

That is fine. The Assessment is not a replacement for execution. It is the strategic diagnosis that helps you and your team know what to execute on. The Assessment can also help give an existing team or agency clearer priorities to work from.

What happens after the Assessment?

You get a Business Growth Snapshot, an executive summary, a customized 90-Day Growth Action Plan and a Growth Roadmap Presentation. Implementation is separate. Some clients implement on their own. Some work with me on project-based consulting or longer engagements. The Assessment is designed to give you clarity either way.

How do I know whether I need the Business Visibility & Growth Assessment™ or a One-Hour Consulting Call?

If you have one specific business question or issue you want to work through, the One-Hour Consulting Call may be enough. If you are unsure what is actually limiting your growth, have several competing priorities, or need an outside assessment of the business as a whole, the Business Visibility & Growth Assessment™ is the better starting point.

You can see every way we can work together on the consulting and playbook page.

Growth does not always come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from seeing clearly.

If you are working harder than ever but the business is not growing with you, an outside perspective can help you understand what is actually limiting growth and what to do next.
